We got up and were in our own home (we love it)....had a bite to eat.....started working right away. We started on the bathroom shower. We had to tile the floor. We picked a mosaic that coordinates with the walls.
Tiles layed out - dry run
Am I expected to do this?
Thinset "plopped" onto the shower floor
More thinset deposited onto the shower floor.
Thinset spread
All the tile is in, attention is now turned to putting Greene-Board down for tile to go on the floor....few small details to attend to.
Greene-Board (sure looks white to me!) all down
While that sets up, we turned our attention to the closet organizer
All things assembled
Here we go...
Then about 3:30, I had to get cleaned up. I promised Jazmyn I would go to her soccer practice at 5:00 today. I got over there just before 5p.m. and picked her and her little friend up and headed to the practice field. Here she is in her "get-up".
And on the practice field
As soon as I dropped her and her friend off, I hurried home to change and get ready to go to our women's monthly meeting at church.
Dan continued working and got a bunch of the tile layed on the floor - until he ran out of thinset!
He got 1/2 of the floor done though. Tomorrow we'll make our daily run (I think Dan is addicted now) to Menard's and get more thinset so we can finish that tile.
Also, today we marked where we would put the wainscoating in the dining room. My goal was to have the green primed (where I went too low) and have it ready. But, didn't quite make it.
Here is what I want the wainscoating to look like
Tomorrow I have committed to helping Kayla and Gina. Kayla is painting one wall in her room and getting it reorganized before school starts. Figured it's the least I can do since she sacrificed it for us all summer!
Our big plan for the holiday weekend - get the bathroom done and start on the kitchen! We'll see how it goes.
