Smelly Sealant

Today at work we were all commenting on working on Labor Day, and wasn't Labor Day supposed to be a cessation of labor, but we were certainly working....
It wasn't bad. The day started out extremely slow. In fact, on the way to work, I couldn't believe how sparse traffic was. It was eerie. There was hardly anyone on the roads. Then once at work, no one came into the store until late morning. We had time to get some projects done. But once it picked up, Oh my goodness, was it ever busy. We had droves of people waiting at the cutting counter. One lady came up to me and said she had been waiting 45 minutes - to have one piece of fabric cut. We laughed about how much she must have needed that one piece to have waited that long!

I'm sure tomorrow will be much slower....sale ended today!

Dan spent the whole day wrestling with plumbing issues. He intended to hook up the master bathroom the rest of the way, but first had to make a few changes to the existing pipes. You don't want to know the gorey details! Or, should I say, I don't want to type the gorey details! So, just let your imagination go.....

After I got home, I started putting the grout sealant on the shower walls. About 3/4 of the way through, I started feeling funny. I didn't smell much from the sealant, so thought it was from bending over or something. By the time I finished the floor, I was sure I was going to vomit. It was awful. We went to Lowe's to grab more plumbing supplies....or something....I was too nauseous to care. Dan went into the store without me. I put my seat back and closed my eyes and tried to keep everything down. Then he was hungry, so we went to Meijer's to grab a chicken (they sell rotisserie chickens - a quick supper!) Again, I stayed in the car and rested my eyes/stomach. I couldn't stand the thought of food. By the time we got home, I was better and did eat.

Also after we got home, Dan went up to the bathroom and said he smelled the sealant. I still couldn't, sneaky stuff! (He's usually the one with the defective sniffer!)

Tomorrow Dan has his men's breakfast then he is going to meet Jim and Mary Frazier. She and I work together at Jo-Ann's. They have a small brick repair job they want Dan to do before cold weather hits. Then, I'm not sure what he intends to do. I'll let you know tomorrow night what he accomplishes.
