He got the ladder in place to look into the attic. I followed him up to see what was going on. There was a SMALL drip around the chimney. (We knew at the beginning of this project the chimney needed some repairs, so it wasn't a big surprise.) The bucket was put in place to catch the drip and the day went on.
Attic - you've seen it before, but here it is again.
We spent the whole day in the kitchen. We put up lots of trim, both around the tile on the countertops and on the tops of the cabinets.
I started out painting, and painted all day off and on. I painted the back door, the French door and the door going into the basement. Then as Dan got the trim up and caulked it, I painted it.

Mindi and the little ones stopped by for a few minutes.
Our handiwork for the day...
You will notice the island is black. We decided to mix it up a bit and make it black but keep the main cabinets white. What do you think? The baseboard hasn't been put on it yet, nor has the trim under the counter that finishes it.
After Mindi and the kids left, I swept and washed the cupboards and drawers, then put what food and supplies we have in them. I can't believe I have a kitchen again!
Tomorrow, first thing in the morning, Dan is meeting Dave and they are getting the refrigerator out of storage. I won't know what to do with a full-size frig! I've been using a mini frig for months. (Thanks for loaning that to us, Brian! It's been very helpful)
We are still looking for a stove. Thank you to all you who have made suggestions and given us leads, we appreciate it!
Off to the shower. My hands are so rough after being in paint and water all day, I think I need a manicure! But then I'd mess it up working....better wait on that!
WOW it looks gorgeous!!!! I love the island black! Seriously I NEED to take a break from work and come and see you. Maybe on Sat. while Brad watches the football game.
ReplyDeleteTalk to you later.. But it really looks good Love the black!!!
