Man, it was like Christmas here this evening.
Before I tell you about that though, I'll fill you in on our day.
We went to the 10a.m. service then stayed for the beginning of the 3rd service because they were taking in new members. We joined the Ionia Resurrection Life Church officially today.
We are excited. We've been asked to lead a marriage small group that caters specifically to hurting marriages or marriages that are in crisis.
As most of you know that's where our marriage was almost 10 years ago. So we are delighted to be used to help other people through the same thing we went through.
Then, we went home, changed, picked up our dirty clothes and headed over to Mindi's. They had invited us for lunch, so we asked if we could do a few loads while we were there. They were gracious and let us do that.
Mindi had made fajitas and rice, and ended it with a caramel apple pie.
We stayed a few hours, played with the kids, napped (that was Dan and Seth), did some wash, watched some of the Robots movie, then left about the same time they did. They were going to the other side of the family for the evening.
We started home and talked about what to do once there, and decided to go to storage. We initially went to get the griddle. We don't have the stove yet and this morning Dan wanted to make waffles. We got the waffle maker the last trip to storage and were stoked for them this morning, but that didn't last long. When Dan went to make them he realized we didn't have oil in the house. So he figured the griddle was the next best thing.
Well, we never found the griddle, but we DID find lots of dishes, silverware, glasses, utensils....LOTS of kitchen stuff. When we got back home, we started unpacking them and had a great time. We opened stuff we haven't seen for months. It was like Christmas!
We wanted to get it all put away so we cut shelf lining paper and put that down then put all the dishes, silver and utensils away.
We then heated up some leftovers, ate and are now checking email, blogging, and getting ready for another week.
I'm looking forward to this week. I only work Monday and Wednesday, so I'm hoping to get a lot done here. Since the kitchen is almost done, we can now move on to other rooms. The plan is to get to drywalling this week. Several things have to happen before that, but we'll keep you up on that as it happens!
Tomorrow after work, I get to go to Kayla's volleyball game. I'm looking forward to that! I'll try to get pictures of her playing.
Dan goes first thing and picks up the clean stove we bought ;-)
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
