Then we were a bit surprised this morning when we drove up to the back of the house and there was a car in the drive...there sat Hank, just waiting patiently.
We started putting drywall up in the dining room.
Hank
I think Hank has psychic abilities. He knows when and where to do the right thing. While we were drywalling and mudding today, he went upstairs and did a project I've been wanting to get done for a couple weeks. The hallway upstairs had wood slats sitting in it for several weeks. They were from the ceiling in the master bedroom. He picked them up, handed them out the upstairs window to me, then we carried them into the basement (Dan wants to use them to make shelves in the basement). Then he swept all the drywall dust up, moved stuff around, hauled garbage out...did a really nice job up there.
Then the funniest thing happened - Dan covered up an electrical connection in the dining room ceiling. So today, Hank had the idea of looking through the rafters and measuring where the box was. Dan climbed up the ladder, found the box, measured...
that's why his head is in the rafters here.
Measuring
Double checking
Yep, there it is!
Dining room walls drywalled
Here are the kitchen walls with about 3 coats of mud on them.
One more top coat and we can prime them - WHOO HOO!!!
So, back at it tomorrow. More hanging drywall, mudding, maybe even some priming late in the day, or not. LOL
