We had just left Gina's house and were barely 2 miles down the road when Dan started smacking at his right leg and yelling something unintelligable. What I got was, "It's alive, and it is crawling!" So, with nothing crawling up my leg, common sense tells me, pull over! So I kept saying, "Just pull over!" "Pull over!" Just before pulling over he says, "I got it," while holding a big lump in the leg of his jeans. When we finally pulled to the side of the road, he saids he was going to get out because he didn't want whatever it was to fall into his shoe...he had not tied his shoes before starting out.
He got out and took his shoe off and shook the leg of his pants out...you would not believe what was CRAWLING UP HIS LEG!
An ARACHNID!
Dan's idea - to give perspective on size
When we finally got to the house, Mindi and Jazmyn were already in the driveway waiting patiently for us.
Dan started in right away with filling the hole in the chimney.
Mixing mortar and putting small blocks in the hole.
Voila! Hole filled!
Then we went to town putting up pieces of drywall in the dining room. There were a lot of odd pieces to hang in there between the dining room and family room.
Mindi and I started hanging it while Dan started mudding in the kitchen.
Then she grabbed the tools and started mudding also. Once the drywall was up, we were all mudding!
During the day, Jazmyn and the little neighbor boy, Donny, played. They found a frog and built a castle for it out of the rock on the old deck area. They also found the back corner of the yard and were "improving" it. They were making a dream home out of it! (Funny, that's what we are trying to do in the rest of the yard!)
Oh, and you have to know, they found diamonds and other precious stones in that pile of rock!
Got a few plans for tomorrow, one of which is to deliver a cell phone to Dan's mom.
After church we are stopping by the house to check how the mud is drying. We also want to check Menards...they have a 3 day sale and there are a couple things we may get. Will let you know.....
