Haircuts

This morning, as stated in our last blog, Dan and Daniel poured a basement floor in Hastings.

They started at 9:00 a.m. and were done by about noon. I have no pictures of their work....sorry.

I turned the leased vehicle in first thing this morning. Mindi and the kids met me and took me to the house. I started sanding, but realized another coat of mud needed to be added to the wall so I stopped doing that. I made a few calls to take care of insurance, etc., talked to several people on the phone....I did that out on the deck and the result is a bit of a sunburn. It's the first time I've been in the sun at any length all summer....in August no less!

Dan got to the house around 2:00 p.m. He hadn't been there 20 minutes and our friend and drywaller, Brian Griffin showed up. He went through the house and looked at what we had done, told us what he would do, wrote up an estimate/contract (he gave us a REALLY good price) and started to work! He assured Dan we could be painting by noon on Wednesday. I'm excited about that!

Here are a few pictures of that process:

Tools of the trade (Dan was quite upset he hadn't had them two weeks ago)

Tomorrow, we'll be putting duct work in the walls, hopefully putting up the trayed ceilings.....not sure what all. But, Dan has his morning men's meeting at 6:30 a.m. That lasts at least an hour....sometimes more depending on how "chatty" the men get. He will have to come and pick me up (I don't have a car anymore), then we'll go out to the house. I'm sure Brian will be there by then mudding walls....

I'll be sure to get pictures tomorrow of walls he's doing.

Dan is in the chair as we speak, getting his hair cut. I'm next, so I have to get going....his doesn't take long!
