Tidy Friday!

Growing up, Saturdays were the day we were all coralled and given tasks to do to prepare for "The Sabbath". We did thorough cleaning, let me tell you. Not only did we have to clean, but we got our clothes and shoes ready for the following day. Saturday night was the time to shine the shoes. I don't know if you have ever "shined your shoes", but it is quite a process. I don't know if they even sell shoe polish any more.

I must tell you though, my mom did make mopping and waxing fun. She would mop, put the wax on the floor, then let us run around in our socks and "buff" the floor.

All that to say, today was a cleaning day. The garbage got hauled away, the basement got swept and cleaned and the tools that won't be used for awhile were taken down and organized down there.

We still have some cleaning up to do, but the place looks a lot better than it did this morning.

I didn't take many pictures til the end of the afternoon (we cut out a little bit early).

Tomorrow, Dan and I both have appointments in the morning. He has men's group in Ionia and Gina and I are going to meet with Bruce Albin, the friend who is renting us his house for our family reunion. We are going to wrap up some last minute details.

Then, we'll meet up at the house and.....well, I'll fill you in tomorrow night with what we get accomplished.
