Friday, Family Night

Today was a well-rounded day. We started out by doing chores around the Boening household. Things we are typically not used to doing. Feeding and watering chickens - I haven't done that since I was 10 years old!

Then we went to Menards in Ionia and Dan submitted an application for employment. He talked to a guy there the other day who told him who to turn it in to and how to fill it out....maybe he'll be employed before he finishes this project!? Then we bought the drywall! Yeah, we now have all the drywall we can handle, and more. They allow you to purchase then pick up as needed. So, we'll get it as we are ready for each room.

Next step was wiring at the house. We ran wiring in the kitchen, dining and family room. I know I've said this before, but it is not as easy as it sounds or as easy as it looks. That wire is stiff stuff!

Here we are...

Knocking a hole in the middle of the dining room ceiling for a light.

Pulling wires through the rafters.

Wires everywhere!

Drilling holes for wires in the kitchen floor.

All secure

My big job, hand Dan the little wire "holders".

Got bored after awhile....

I kept an eye on the clock and kept updating Dan on what time it was and how much longer we had to work. After the second or third time, he goes, "You're serious, aren't you?" Well, YEAH! His sisters and families are in from out of town and were at his mom's house all day. We said we'd be there sometime in the afternoon. I knew it would take time to drive back to Gina's, shower then drive out to his mom's. We got there after 4 p.m.

Here's what we saw...

Tillie and Jennifer...very serious, aren't they?

Fred reading the paper, Dan watching Nathan and Brenda at the computer.

Katie pondering....something.

Spencer being a typical 5 yr. old.

Katie and Jennifer teasing their little brother, Spencer.

Karissa helping make dinner.

Nathan and Karissa

We had a very enjoyable evening visiting and having dinner together. Hannah offered to make dessert for all of us. She actually ran to the store and made sure she had enough root beer for floats. Then took orders from all of us....asking whether we wanted floats or sundaes. She cut up bananas for splits too. She did a great job!

Tomorrow we move to Lowell to house sit for friends for two weeks. Then we have Rayna's birthday party. Not sure we'll even make it to the house or not!

Will let you know tomorrow night!
