Thank you, Whitson Insulation!

Oh, my goodness. That's Levi's newest saying, but it also is what I said when I got to the house today.

Dan was up and gone by 7:00 a.m. I took a little longer! I was fighting a massive headache so I wasn't in a hurry. I also had to leave early and meet Marie to work on reunion stuff. So I knew we were going to drive separately anyway. I also had to stop and get a few items at the store first thing.

By the time I got there, there were 4 cars in the yard. Dan, Hank, Dave and Brian were there. Here's what their shirts looked like....

Brian (owner of Whitson Insulation) was putting batting insulation into the living room walls. He was wearing a mask...stuffing it in by hand. I itched just watching! It was stiffling hot in that room! They had the massive fan blowing out the door, but it wasn't making much of a difference where he was working.

Hank was disassembling an electrical box they found behind the basement door!

Dave was sweeping plaster dust out of the walls upstairs.

I KNOW that's the same picture. It's the only one I took of Dave doing the walls.

After I got there, Dan and I started putting plastic up in the master bedroom.

Without plastic

Plastic going up

When Brian got the batting insulation done, he started helping do the plastic. It flew up then. He and Dan would cut the strips, jump on ladders and pound the staples into the walls so fast, all Dave and I could do was stand and watch, or move a ladder, hand them replacement staples, try to help in whatever way we could. They weren't talking or giving direction. It was too hot, and they were mooovvving!
(In fact, I timed how long it took them to do the wall on the landing....4 minutes from cutting the plastic 'til the last staple went in!)

In the stairway

You've heard of walking on water....Dan thinks he can walk on air, evidently.

More of Brian in the stairway
(check out the color of those arms....product of working with old insulation in an old house!)

Plastic goes up in the dining room

While Dan and Brian were putting up plastic in the stairway, they discussed taking the trim down - how much easier it would make it for putting up drywall. Out came to tools and it wasn't long before the trim was down around the window. (We're saving it and putting it back up!)

Here are Dave and Hank pulling the rest of the nasty plaster from that area.

After I left, Dan, Dave and Hank worked on removing the boards from the ceiling in the master bedroom. They had to go in order for the new drywall to be installed.

All boards off the ceiling

I was amazed at what got done today, especially in the heat. It was 94 degrees today.

We are extremely grateful for the help of family and friends.
Thank you Brian, Hank and Dave!
You guys have been a tremendous blessing!
