Tuesday's Trash

Trashy Tuesday, so I hear.

After Dan had his men's prayer breakfast/Bible study, he got the dump truck from his dad again. We had more trash to dump, so he loaded it all up and took it to the 'smelly place'!

He also took the copper pipes and turned them in as scrap. They are paying $2.40/lb for copper, $1.40/lb for brass. It took a huge bite out of the plumbing budget! Now we'll have all new pipes - I'm excited about that. Especially when I was walking behind Dan as he carried pipes out of the house and saw what was falling out of them! You don't even want to know!

He took pictures today, so I'm telling you what I was told.
Here is a picture of the deck - prior to this, there were a bunch of boards, pieces of trim, 2x4's, barn siding, and miscellaneous stuff sitting on the deck. He took it all with the last load to the dump. I guess he wanted to give me proof.

Lovely screen door, don't you think? Don't worry, that's slated to be removed soon. AND, the ugly wood siding will either be replaced or covered with gray siding.

Before he went he also took the rest of the brick chimney out of the kitchen. It was on the back wall that extended up through the ceiling and ran through the extra bedroom upstairs. Remember, they had painted it black in that room?

Here's the before of the bedroom

See the wall to the left of the sink/counter area? That's where the brick were hidden. They are now GONE!

Now, here's that wall after everything has been torn out

Up close, of course, and with a lot of other stuff sitting in the way, SORRY!

In a few weeks we'll be showing you an after shot of the kitchen that you won't believe is the same room.

Plumbing still needs to be finished. Hopefully a lot of that will get done tomorrow.
Here are some of the pieces that will go into the bathroom downstairs.

'Til then....
