Returning to Demolition

Our first day back at demolition. We didn't get an early start.
First, you have to see what really started our day.

Levi getting ready for his day - what do you think of those shoes? They belong to Dave! (Following in Daddy's footsteps...)

Then he got into his "car"

Ok, so that's one reason we were a little late getting started. The other reason was - Dan had to take the dump truck to the dump. We had quite a load on there. Then he picked up the French Door for the kitchen.
AND, while he did all that, I went to get Jazmyn. She came over to help me....and I'll have you know, she did a great job! She even surprised me! With a hammer in her hand, she's a formidable force. DON'T get in her way!

We worked upstairs on the "landing" area. We had to knock all the plaster off the wall. And knock plaster off, we did. I forgot to take a picture at the end of the day, but here are a few of what we did.

First, she's scoping things out

Getting suited up for work

"How am I doing?"

Dan taking the trim off....perhaps that would have been a better FIRST step, no?!
BUT, check out those walls behind him...aren't they bare?!

While Jaz and I worked upstairs, Dan and Hank worked downstairs. They finished tearing out the drywall. The ceiling is 3/4 scraped. The next step there is to run electrical wiring, then we can drywall it.

Hank was a real worker-bee today. Not only did he help tear out, he kept sweeping up...you have no idea how helpful that was if you haven't seen it. There was dust, plaster and wood splinters everywhere. That is what he cleaned up in the whole downstairs area!

I hit the Pause button on them!

I'm not sure...I think he said he was doing his 'deer in the headlights' imitation.

Check out what they found in the wall in the bathroom. They found "Zip cord". For the novices among us (me included, I had to ask Dan what it was called to type this!), that is lamp cord!

And it was hooked to THIS!

I'm so glad we are tearing everything out NOW!

Let's call it a night.
Dan goes to his men's breakfast in the morning, then it's time to finish the bathroom clean-out and move all the cabinetry over so we can demolish the dining room walls, and who knows what else we'll come up with.
Lots left to do!
