We got so much accomplished it amazes even us.
But, you know what's coming first! Who I got to talk to and play with before getting into the 'work'.
Levi came into my room and had his Batman toy with him. He was racing it across the bed!
Dan returned from his prayer breakfast around 10:00 a.m.
We started out removing the last of the plaster under the stairs in the entryway.
Before
After
Then we aimed to finish the ceiling in the old bathroom - it carried over into the next room, so we removed all of that ceiling also.
We both took turns on it, but I have to admit, Dan did the majority of it. He just "happened" to grab the camera when I climbed on the ladder.
Darth goes to work...
Half-way done....
Completed....
First, I have to apologize for the quality of the picture! Dust was flying so fast and furiously, you can hardly see in there! LOL
Then we had a nice reprieve and visited with Pat and Hank who stopped by to see the place. Well, I had a reprieve, Dan stayed up on the ladder and kept right on working. Thanks, Pat! I needed that breather!
Then as we were cleaning up the mess from pulling the ceiling down, Roland and Ginny stopped by. They were dressed in work clothes and bearing gifts! They brought us our first flowers to plant - Petunias. Thanks guys!
It was like we all had received a work order that caused the work to flow.
We moved all the cabinetry into the newly 'gutted' family room.
Oops! I stand corrected - Roland was giving orders! Kidding! Looks suspect though, doesn't it?!
We then grabbed hammers, pry bars, brooms, shovels and an "ice spud" or "ice scraper" and began removing the plaster and flooring from the dining room. We completed it within 1/2 an hour. We got done and just looked at each other...amazed at how quickly it had disappeared.
See, we were working so fast and furiously the dust was flying again!
Sorry about the poor pic!
Voila, Done!
Ginny said they had one more hour before they had to leave and asked if there was anything else we wanted them to do. "Are you kidding?" Working like that, we aren't about to turn that offer down!
Up we went to the bathroom....and the wall came tumbling down!
So, that was our productive day. We almost hate to take Sunday off and break the momentum. But we're going to! We know how important a day off is for our mental and physical well being.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
