Restful Sunday

Since we are in Grand Rapids, we decided to go to Grandville Res Life this morning instead of driving out to Ionia for church.

Here is the link to both of them:

Ionia - http://rlcionia.com/

It was nice to see old friends again. Then after the service, we went up to the cafe and had lunch together....altogether a nice time.

This afternoon Dan did some research on Baker Scaffolding. Instead of borrowing from someone indefinitely, we thought it would be worth it to invest in one for ourselves. It would be useful in several parts of this project. He found them ranging in price from $379.00 to $179.00

Besides the regular places in town, like Menards, Home Depot, Lowes...he checked Craigslist and found someone selling their almost brand new scaffolding for $75.00, still in the box. We are driving there this evening to pick it up.

We prayed before starting this project that the Lord would help us find good deals...it has been happening. So that is exciting.

This week we also ordered new windows. We will replace all but one window in the house. I want to keep the window at the stairway that matches all the other woodwork. They should be ready for installation in 2-3 weeks.

If you look under the stairs, you can see the corner of the window

We are using Window World. Their website is: http://www.windowworld.com/

Of all the window represetatives, they gave us the best quote and have a funny slogan that they actually demonstrate. It is: we don't just stand by our windows, we stand on our windows. The salesman actually stood on the window! Once the new windows arrive, we can take the wood off the window at the front and at the side! Here is how unsightly it is:

I've been thinking about how this project could parallel our spiritual journey. Check out the beginning of my thoughts on this other blog: http://meticulousmakeovers.blogspot.com/
I'll be posting on it as I have time to add to it.

Thanks for reading, have a restful Sunday evening!
