Family Day

Saturday on Father's Day weekend. How better to spend it than with the family, right?
We left this morning after spending a few minutes with Levi and Gideon.

Gideon

Gina and Dave asked if we needed help today. We are no dumbies...we don't turn down free help!
They were getting theirs' and the kids breakfast ready

When we got to the house we started getting things ready to start running the electrical wire. I moved a pile of wood we kept from the closet walls - from the middle of our bedroom floor to the middle of the third bedroom floor. This wood lined all the closets from floor to ceiling. We aren't quite sure what kind it is, but Dan has some uses in mind, so we are keeping it.
We are having to keep moving it also!

He prepared the walls by cutting a strip out for the wiring.

WHAT??

Troops soon arrived and began work in earnest.

Suiting up!

Levi really enjoyed using the broom and dust pan.

The gloves fascinated him too.

He actually helped too. I showed him how to use a screwdriver to push plaster out of lathe. Then how to use the hammer to break it up. He used both but preferred the screwdriver.

Meantime, wire was going in the wall!

Then we noticed the neighbors were cutting a tree down, limb by limb. So we sat on the front 'stoop' and watched awhile.

Then we had the first picnic in our yard. We set up a table outside and had lunch together.

Right after we concluded the picnic and Dan and Dave went back to work, Jazmyn and Mindi arrived. They actually came to help Gina and me plan some more for our family reunion this July.

Mindi enjoying Gideon, and I think Gideon enjoying Mindi!

Jazmyn and Levi had fun while we planned.

Meanwhile, wire continued going in the wall.
Like that position on the ladder?!
We knew OSHA wasn't going to show up today!

Then the men joined us for a little more planning...

The enthusiasm seems to be waning, huh?!

Jazmyn came prepared for a boring moment.

Levi brought snacks.

Dan.....has been working too hard, too long!

So, here are a few pics of the results of today's labors.

Oh, and we did find an old card from what appears to be a cereal box.
It has 1981 printed on it. So, as Mindi put it, it is as old as she is! So now you know how old....

Hope you are having a wonderful Father's Day Weekend!
