Kitchen Tile Completely Installed

WooHoo!
The kitchen floor tiles have all been "stuck down"!
Dan's poor knees are tender, red, and painful....he was on his knees all afternoon and evening yesterday and from 9:00 this morning til about 4:00 this afternoon.
He wouldn't stop til the last tile was put down.

He didn't wear knee pads yesterday. We did talk about them, but didn't take the time to go get them. Today, however, when first mentioned, he went right downstairs and got them. They were so funny. They have white centers that are hard plastic. When he moved it sounded like a horse clomping around. Late in the day he was even joking about them being high heeled knee pads!

Where we left off last night.

First stripe of the day down

That corner is done - and check out those knee pads!

Next section....

Whole section in front of the sink

Then we came around to the side of the island you sit at...where you come in from the back door and began there.

Home stretch

Dan tried to take my picture while we were working - well, I really didn't want you to see me today. Here's the hat I wore while we worked.

You saw him working.
Here we are at the end of the day, after cleaning up.

When we got done we worked a little bit on our Christmas party.
Sunday evening we have our small group Christmas party. We worked on games, etc.

We decided to go see Narnia, the movie. We knew if we stayed here we would find another project to do. Dan's knees needed the rest!

Narnia is a wonderful movie. It is based on the books C.S. Lewis has written. Great morals. Clean, adventurous, all around good entertainment.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I get to watch the Miller children for a little while in the afternoon. Mindi and Seth's schedules overlap about an hour so I'm going to cover that hour. Then I need to run into Grand Rapids (I'm hoping I get to kidnap Jazmyn and take her with me!)

Dan plans to grout the kitchen floor tomorrow.
Did I tell you the kind of tiles we got?
They are a fairly new product - vinyl tile. They go down almost like a ceramic tile and you grout them. But they are made of vinyl, are more flexible (which we really need on that floor!) and wear well.
Cutting them to lay was easier than cutting a cermic tile!

Well, still have more to work on for the Christmas party, better get busy on that.
We are going to play a few games, I'll tell you about them Sunday or Monday in case some of the group reads this!

Have a good evening.
