We started out the day (well, Dan started out the day) with a trip to the dump to empty the dump truck. Here's the delightful mess he had to deal with first thing in the morning.
We proceeded to fill it with all the plaster and lathe lying on the floor from yesterday. That is a dusty mess to deal with!
We worked a few hours alone and then to our surprise Hank walked in the door. We were not expecting him to return for a few days. We figured we wore him out yesterday and he wouldn't want to return for awhile. But he was back and ASKED if he could get the toilets and water working. Can you? You need not ask that question twice. Of course you can! He had to "back flush" the toilets. Ok, to a novice in plumbing, that sounds dangerous, doesn't it? There was no leaking, or freaking. In no time he informed us we had running water and working toilets. Thank you Hank!
Then Dave (our son in law) showed up. He went right to work tearing out more plaster and lathe.
It was mid to late afternoon when Dan and Dave noticed a bigger crack in the dining room ceiling. The previous owners had cut out part of a load bearing wall. We knew it was something that needed to be fixed. When they saw the ceiling, they decided that was the right time to put up the temporary walls and get ready to install the "beam". But first, a trip to Lowe's!
They were back in short order with all those supplies and went to work installing all the necessary 2x4's.
Late in the day we had a few visitors stop by....invitation is open to all of you....come on down!
I've been playing a bit with backgrounds. Comments were made about the black being boring....do you like it lighter or darker?
Ok I was so suprized when I saw the white I was like WOW that's bright!! I like it better then the black but keep looking Hilma
