Wedding Day!

Another blessed day - sometimes I am simply overwhelmed at how blessed we are and feel like I cannot contain it!

We got up, got ready and packed our stuff to get ready for the wedding once we got into town. We had several things we wanted to do and didn't know if we'd have enough time to drive back, get ready and then drive into Grand Rapids again.
Good thing we did. Once we got all our errands taken care of, it was time to get ready and head to the wedding.

We asked Marie if we could change and get ourselves put together at her house. We considered asking Gina, but knew that her house would be busy if not chaotic trying to get a family ready.

As we got to Marie's, they were leaving for another wedding.
We got to Laina's grandmothers a little bit early, but better to be early than late, right?

The initial part of the ceremony was done by a judge, a friend of the family. Then Daniel led us all in taking part of a salt covenant. That was a surprise, but was both different and meaningful.

After the judge pronounced them man and wife, we all toasted them then had a nice meal then after eating the meal had cake and ice cream. After the food was all done, we sat around and watched them open gifts.

I've never been to a home wedding and I must say it was cozy, warm, close, meaningful....all around wonderful. Quite different from the typical church wedding, but really nice.

Here are pictures from the day.

Mindi made the cake so she and Jazmyn were already there when we arrived.

Makin' it legal....it was funny, after the judge pronounced them man and wife or Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Conklin, her grandmother tried to say something and the judge is like, "I've got to go get these documents signed!"

Jazmyn wanted her picture with her "boy cousins" who were enjoying themselves playing on the stairs.

Just like cousins, isn't it?!

That apple didn't fall far, did it?!

Well, I delivered on the pictures....people groan when they see me coming now cos they know I'll be taking pictures. Is that a bad thing? ;-)

We brought Jazmyn home with us for the night. She is eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because she didn't eat regular food tonight. She told us she saved the room for cake and ice cream! Of course, she's hungry now at bedtime!

Better spend a few minutes with her before lights out....

As a disclaimer....I don't know what happened to the spacing and placement of pictures. I tried to correct it, but it isn't cooperating too well. Plus, it is getting late and I want to go to bed! SORRY!
