We had an early celebration for the 4th. Mindi and Seth threw a party out at his parents place (nice place out in the country) so they could light their stash of fireworks. They put on quite a show. We all enjoyed it. Before that, they barbequed the usual....hamburgers, hot dogs, brats....with all the fixin's.
Here are some pictures of the evening:
Mindi holding Solen
Dan eating and visiting with Daniel.
Gina and the boys
Jazmyn with what appears to be a squirt gun
Levi and squirt gun...
Not to be outdone, Gideon and squirt gun!
Me - and I'm not sure what Seth is doing behind me. Hmmmm....
Gideon with I'm-not-sure-whose-glasses!
Gina holding Solen - and Laina
Grandma and Grandpa!
The line-up. Waiting for fireworks!
After they started to go off! They were so funny to watch!
Me and precious Solen....Seth's mom and sister (Penny and Kendra off to the right), his dad (Greg) in the background and Gina and Gideon on the left.
The adults were having fun lighting them off and the kids sat and watched.
Our original three blessings!
The three with us...

On Thursday this week I got to have Kayla and Jazmyn for the day, evening and night. We did some shopping, eating, played dress-up (well, they did anyway, and I took pictures!) It was a very enjoyable day. They've matured a lot in the last year and this visit was without arguments, fights or anything negative. I loved it!
Here are some pictures of their dress-up time.
Make-up out and ready! They made good use of it, as you will soon see.
Take special note of their clean faces!
Let the games begin!
Phase I
Phase II
Phase III
Now that Jazmyn is all ready, Kayla starts on herself.
We'll skip all the phases for her and go right to the finished product.
(My how dress-up has changed in a few short years!!)
While she was getting ready, she kept asking about my wedding dress, so I went up and got it out and let them use it.
Then they swapped dresses.
Then all the dresses were fair game.
They were getting along so well....I just sat and had my picture taken with them!
Then make-up and clothes changed dramatically.
Ok, I'm tired, it is getting late and I have to work tomorrow.
Dan has the week off - they shut down the plant for a week for yearly repairs and maintenance. He'll be doing stuff around the house...tomorrow he has to get my car. It has been in the shop - the brake lines were leaking and the brakes just about went out on me. We kept putting brake fluid in then finally (thanks to Dave) figured out that the lines were bad.
I should have it back tomorrow though.
Ciao!
