WOW, It's Been a Long Time, Huh?!

I was thinking about this blog today and thought, instead of leaving it dormant, I"ll add to it as things happen, even if they aren't about the house.

We have been working on it sporadically. We have the hallway upstairs drywalled, painted and ready for carpet. We even have the carpet padding, carpet, tack strips.....just have to lay it now. We're going to do the landing and stairs at the same time.

Last week Dan went up to the guy in Sheridan to get trim to do the cauffered ceiling in the living room. That is sitting on the railing upstairs waiting to be painted. We put it there because last weekend we had Mindi and Seth's kids overnight and we didn't want it where they'd be tripping on it. It is so long we didn't have many options!

Today I've spent most of the day waiting - waiting for a glass specialist to come and replace the car windshield. A rock hit it yesterday while I was following a semi. Then, once he got here, I had to wait for him to install it. Now that it is installed, I have to wait to drive it. He didn't say why, I'm guessing for the caulk to dry or cure or whatever it does!

Here are a couple pictures of it in the different stages.

And now I have a brand new windshield.

As I have time to sit and download pictures, I'll add some to this blog. It just takes so long.....I don't always have that much patience.

Nice talking to you again ;-)

Summer Activities - Family Reunion

Lots has happened in the past month since I last posted.
I'll try to catch you up....

Dave and Gina decided to pour a concrete pad next to the garage for the boat and camper or whatever they need to park there. It is the whole side of the garage and patio. Turned out really nice.
Daniel and Dan went over and helped pour and finish.

Truck arriving - hmmmmmm, seems to be a bit of a problem, no?!

Nothing a chain saw can't remedy.

Us "watchers"

FAMILY REUNION

The last weekend of July we have our family reunion on my side. We trade off going to IL, CT and MI. This year we met in IL. The agreement is that the hosting state provides lodging for all the others coming in from out-of-state. They also provide food and entertainment.
The IL contingent did a great job this year.
We all made it - none were missing. So enjoy the pictures of the whole family.
